PTSA Thanks small

The Phoenix Middle School PTSA is a community of parents, teachers, and students who share a common goal of improving and supporting our school. Our efforts to raise funds that support technology and travel experiences, as well as scholarships and other classroom needs, all enhance the student experience, and make Phoenix the unique experience it has become. We encourage parents to voice constructive input and offer their time and energy. As an active participant, parents will stay connected to their school and their children, as well as create a better environment for learning.

Please join the PTSA at Phoenix.

Any parent, student, teacher, staff member or community member is welcome to be a part of the PTSA.

  • Whether you have an incoming seventh grader or you are a seasoned parent of an eighth grader, Phoenix PTSA is a vital resource and our efforts directly benefit your student. While we have a relatively small student population, we are large in scope and provide incredible enrichment opportunities. Here are a few programs supported by funds that we provide:

    • MAP System and a web presence apart from the district page (PhoenixMS.org).
MAP is unique to Phoenix in the Worthington School District and it is an integral part of what makes the student mastery grading system work. The MAP is due for an overhaul and that will be a consideration in our fundraising efforts for the 2018-19 and 2019-2020 school years.

    • Advanced Technology Resources for 21st Century Learning.
PTSA funds have purchased SMART boards, programmable drones, innovative computer systems, and digital photography equipment, just to name a few.

    • Travel Funds. Travel is a key element in learning and exploring!
The PTSA supports student travel programs in several different ways. Some years we have been able to give funds toward a travel experience for EVERY STUDENT.

    • Scholarships.
Every year we award scholarships to two Phoenix alums that they can apply towards college opportunities.

We know that you will be (and probably already have been) inundated with information about your new school and all the new opportunities you will have to be involved. In order to continue the level of excellence that we have come to expect, it is important that everyone participate! You can help by volunteering, providing financial support, or both.
  • The number one reason to join PTSA is to benefit your child. But in doing so, you also help our entire school community. Enjoy the benefits PTSA membership offers:

    • Connections & Resources: Membership provides opportunities for you to connect with families and staff to build relationships, share comments and offer suggestions.

    • Gain Experience: By volunteering with PTSA, you gain valuable experience. It's an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to use for a great cause - your child and all children in our community.

    • Let Your Voice Be Heard: Speak and vote at PTSA meetings on issues important to you.

    • Influence Education Reform and Child and Family Services: The simple act of joining PTSA - even if you do not have the time to get personally involved - increases the local, state and national presence of PTSA in its advocacy efforts to improve the health, welfare and education of all children.
